Strategic Waivers School System Public Hearing Announcement

Over the past 20 months, the DeKalb County School District worked with parents, students, employees and community members to gather insights and feedback on practices which would yield the best results for students in the future.

To fully implement some of these practices, the District needs to apply to the Georgia Department of Education for specific waivers from state laws, rules, and guidelines, in exchange for greater accountability and higher student performance expectations. This is captured in the Strategic Waivers School System application

A public hearing on the SWSS application will take place prior to the Business Meeting on March 7, 2016, at 1:00 pm at:
